Bahini Edu Care
EDU-CARE stands for Education-Healthcare-Food & Clothing. This is yet another innovative program by SOS Bahini that has been developed two years ago with the objective to provide support to those children that still have a family and a place to stay, but their families are too poor to provide them with education, nutritious food, healthcare and appropriate clothing.
We are enrolling the beneficiaries in school; pay the school-fee, school-clothes, books and stationary. The children are receiving one meal a day at the HUB or in school and if needed we are providing basic food-stuff to the families which consists of Rice, Daal, Potatoes and oil. In the case of illness we are providing medical care, medicine and hospitalization if needed so.
The families are not receiving any money and this in order to prevent abuse/misuse.
Currently 13 families are benefitting from this program with a total number of 20 beneficiaries. There are14 girls and 6 boys, five of which are slum-dwellers.
The average cost to provide EDU-Care for one child is around 10 Euros per month.
We are determined to extend this efficient, low-cost grass roots project with the aim to provide education and basic care to many more underprivileged children in Nepal.
Thank you all for your support
