The Bahini-Cross-Roads-House
The Bahini-Cross-Roads-House "BCRH" is a project in progress. It will be complementary to our vocational training projects, namely the Vocational-Training-Centre, the Bakery and the "Bahini Café" (in progress) and the IFAP project.
The BCRH will be the last stepping stone for our beneficiaries and it has been designed to facilitate a smooth transition from their IFAP homes to a life in independence and self-sufficiency.
The BCRH will be home to the young women which are undergoing vocational training and/or are working already. Here they will live in autonomy and they themselves will organize the daily tasks like cooking, shopping, cleaning etc.
They will leave in the morning for their training/work and they will return in the evening. They are going to enjoy more freedom but in exchange we are asking them to take responsibility, respect the rules and regulations that will apply and observe good manners and decent behavior. However, they will not be left without guidance!
A Governess will live amongst them and she will monitor, advice & counsel. Moreover she will act as a Sheppard and watch over those of her sheep that might be too keen to cross the boundaries.
The BCRH is the last missing link in our all encompassing strategy to offer a large scale of programs to our beneficiaries. All of these programs are interconnected and designed to provide everything that is required to live a life in independence and dignity.
All of this has been developed and established over the last 5 years with the objective to provide the best possible care to our beneficiaries from the age of 3 up to age 22. From early childhood-care, to education, vocational-training, practical job-training, micro-credit and tertiary studies for the most gifted of our girls, everything is now in place.
