The “Bahini Café” was born out of the need to provide “job-training” for the young women belonging to our target-groups.

The Bahini Cafe, is a training Center which is serving as a "Ecole Hoteliere" where young women from the age group above 16 are undergoing job training. We providing an all-round training comprising cooking , baking, serving, barista, house-keeping and managing. After two years our trainees should be accomplished all-rounders in the restaurant/catering sector.

For those who want to be trained in a single profession only we are offering six month courses. We are prioritizing girls who are under the umbrella of SOS Bahini, but we are also reaching out to underprivileged young women from the slums or to those living in similar conditions.

Currently (Dec.2011) a total of nine young women are undergoing training at the “Bahini Café” whereby half of them are living in the “Crossroads House” that has been established for this purpose.

 We are based in lakeside, Pokhara, which is a popular destination for tourists. Many hotels and restaurants are located in this area and the demand for well trained female staff in this sector is constantly growing in Nepal.

The young women that have been trained at the “Bahini Café” are very likely to find a good job and make a decent living.
